Humboldt groundbreaking

Business and local government officials broke ground Tuesday afternoon on a new business in Humboldt’s Southwind Industrial Park. Murphy Tractor & Equipment will be the first tenant in the park’s expansion when it builds a product support facility to provide parts and service for construction equipment. Dondlinger Construction is building the 15,000 square-foot center on five acres in the expansion area, and Murphy President Bill Buckles said it will open next year and employ 10 to 12 people. Murphy has five other locations in Kansas and this will be the 30th location nationwide. Officials with the City of Humboldt, Allen County, Monarch Cement, Murphy and Dondlinger took part in the groundbreaking northeast of Humboldt.
