Veterans celebrated

Veterans were on parade in more than one place to celebrate Veterans Day. At left, participants and spectators braved the cold at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month on Monday, which was 101 years and six hours after the guns of World War I fell silent in France. The parade through downtown Chanute included included the American Legion and VFW color guard, and bands from Chanute and Humboldt high schools among 23 listed entries, despite a temperature of 26 degrees and a wind chill of 12.
