James L. (Jim) Jeffers, 73, rural Humboldt, passed Nov. 5, 2019.
He was born May 5, 1946, in Iola, the son of Jack and Jeane Jeffers. He attended school in Iola and Humboldt.
Jim was a carpenter by trade and eventually had his own company with his son. Upon retirement, he kept busy working on clocks and guns, both of which he collected avidly.
He leaves behind his son Justin Jeffers and family, Topeka; two daughters, Kim Williams and family, Burlington, Iowa, and Brandy Bridger and family, Neodesha; one brother, Scott Jeffers and family, Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Barb Jeffers and family, Maud, Okla., and Brenda Willard and family, Chanute. He is also survived by his girlfriend and caretaker Cindy Liles and her family, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two small children; a granddaughter; his big brother, Ron Jeffers; and his little sister, Becke Hottenstein.
He will be greatly missed. His nieces and nephews will always remember his slow-walking, tough-talking manner, as will the rest of his family.
His wish was to be cremated. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Wickham Family Funeral Home, 821 W. Main, is in charge of arrangements.
