Alice Irene Thomas, 82, of Chanute, KS, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Heritage Healthcare in Chanute, KS. Alice was born on December 20, 1936 in Humboldt, KS, the daughter of Charles H. and Cora (Hamill) Yockey.
Alice was united in marriage on November 8, 1953 in Chanute, KS to Bill Thomas. She worked as a cook at several different places such as Daylight Donuts and Guest Home Estates. Alice was a member of the Healing Center Church of God in Chanute. She loved to cook and was known for her cinnamon rolls, peanut brittle and chicken & noodles. Alice and Bill spent several years traveling the United States in their RV and singing gospel music. Alice was a great mother and took pride in taking caring of her family. She loved her family dearly and was blessed to have so many grand- and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 12 siblings and a grandchild.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 2 pm at Healing Center Church of God in Chanute. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
