Daniel L. “Danny” Yarnell, 25, of Parsons, and a former Erie resident passed away at 10:54 a.m., Monday, September 2, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was born on May 25, 1994 at Parsons, Kansas to Kenneth and Shellie (Queen) Yarnell. He grew up in Erie and attended Erie schools graduating from Erie High School in 2012 where he participated in football, wrestling, baseball, and band.
Danny later moved to Parsons and worked at CST Storage and was currently working at Ducommun Aero Structures as a machine operator.
Danny was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played coed softball in the spring and summer and loved to spent time with and make memories with his family and friends. He attended the Erie Baptist Church and gave his heart to the Lord at church camp as a teenager. His last act of love was to give others the gift of life through being an organ donor.
Danny’s survivors include his son, Cainen Dean Yarnell of Parsons; his parents, Kenny Yarnell, and his wife, Shannon of Erie and Shellie Bauer, and her husband, Brad of Burlington; his brothers, Keith Yarnell, and his wife, Kelsee of Altamont and Nick Joplin; his sisters, Gloria Schoenhofer, and her husband, Chris of St. Paul, Ashleigh Joplin of Parsons, Misty Joplin of Parsons, Cassey Harper of Erie, and Mariah Yarnell of Parsons; his paternal grandparents, Leland and Sharon Yarnell of Erie; his maternal grandparents, David and Donna Queen of Neodesha; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Queen.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 an Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Erie Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Flippo officiating. Burial will follow in the East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie from 6 to 8 pm Thursday. The casket will remain closed.
