Frazell, Ewert named

SEK coaches of the year

Several Chanute soccer players earned their places on the All-SEK team last week.

In just their second season of existence, the Blue Comets enjoyed their most successful season, including a 10-7-1 season and a trip to the Class 4A regional championship game.

While the entire team should be commemorated for its successful season, five student-athletes were officially All-League players.

Jay Brown is first-team All-SEK, while Chandler Finuf and Noah Crapson are second-team All-SEK players. Third-team All-SEK players are Jacob Adams and Moi Kwek.

“It was great seeing those guys get honored,” head coach Adam Wilcox said. “Those five guys have been the core of our team the past two years. They have been the leaders, on and off the field. They were at the most off-season training and unsurprisingly, they were the best during the season. Those five seniors are CHS soccer legends who everyone else will be compared to.”

Winning SEK League fall Coaches of the Year are first-year head football coach Clete Frazell and golf coach Trevor Ewert.
