The Neosho County Community College Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Athletic Director Amber Burdge at the monthly meeting Thursday night.

Assistant Athletic Director and Sports Information Director Mike Saddler was named Interim Athletic Director. Burdge accepted the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Academics with Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. 

Burdge has been the Neosho Athletic Director since July of 2011. 

Saddler became Assistant Athletic Director in 2012 after working as a pitching coach for the Panther baseball team from 2009 to 2012.

With Saddler as an assistant, the Panthers reached the National Junior College Athletic Association Div. 1 World Series. 

A Colby native, Saddler was a member of the 1999 4A state championship Colby High School basketball team and was a baseball student athlete at Colby Community College and the University of Kansas.

Saddler has an associate’s degree from Colby Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Fort Hays State University.  

Before arriving at Neosho, Saddler was a baseball coach at Baker University and Fort Hays State University.
