Mike Saddler was named Neosho County Community College Athletic Director at the Board of Trustees meeting Thursday night. The Board of Trustees lifted the interim title for the remainder of the 2014-15 school year.
“I’m excited to lead the athletic department,” Mike Saddler said. “I started as an assistant six years ago and have seen the athletic department improve and grow and will work to continue that growth and improvement. Thank you to the Board, Dr. Brian Inbody and the coaches for this opportunity. I hope to make Neosho County Community College proud.”
Saddler was promoted from Assistant Athletic Director and Sports Information Director to Interim Athletic Director when former Panther Athletic Director Amber Burdge stepped down to take the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Academics with Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.
Saddler became Assistant Athletic Director in 2012 after working as a pitching coach for the Panther baseball team from 2009 to 2012.
With Saddler as an assistant, the Panthers reached the National Junior College Athletic Association Div. 1 World Series. A Colby native, Saddler was a member of the 1999 4A state championship Colby High School basketball team and was a baseball student athlete at Colby Community College and the University of Kansas.
Saddler has an associate’s degree from Colby Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Fort Hays State University.
Before arriving at Neosho, Saddler was a baseball coach at Baker University and Fort Hays State University.
